Jen Hickling, an Energy Business Analyst and “Paradigm Shifter” at Aberdeen-based management consultancy Pale Blue Dot Energy, was named last week as one of the New Generation Top 25 Under 25’s working in sustainable business.
The award was announced by the 2degrees Network, a global platform for the development of sustainable business and was based upon early career progress and influence attained by young professionals and their aptitude and ambition to make a splash in the world of sustainable business.
Jen, a zoology graduate with a passion for sustainability, joined Pale Blue Dot Energy in 2013 and has been working as part of a team who support Energy Industry clients to adapt and develop strategy for a decarbonised world through technologies such as carbon capture and storage and renewables.
“I’m delighted to be part of such an exciting group of young professionals. Sustainable business is not only ethically valuable, but profitable as well, and so by visibly adding value to clients, and being successful myself I hope to encourage others to follow suit.” – Jen Hickling
As the world faces up to some seriously big challenges, the new generation of professionals at the early stage of a career in sustainability are incredibly important. These are the business, community, NGO and political leaders of tomorrow – and thankfully they are, largely, innovative, entrepreneurial and impatient for change. 2degrees New Generation was created to give this important group a boost; to recognize and showcase their work and give them a voice in a crowded community as they look to use their ambition, passion and ability to make a difference in the world.
